The USSS also protects the integrity of U.S. currency, by investigating crimes against the U.S. financial system involving counterfeit currency.

DIGNITARY PROTECTION DIVISION
Our primary protection agents are the agents that are closely responsible for the safety of our protectees. Threats to our protectees constantly evolve and are exceedingly complex. Since our protective mission began, our protective work has expanded to not only include traditional physical protection, but also protection against threats from airspace, cyber systems and chemical and biological weapons.
COUNTER ASSAULT TEAM
The Counter Assault Team (CAT) is a specialized tactical unit of the U.S. Secret Service that provides tactical support to the Dignitary Protective Division during every day duties, and at events.
CAT Agents are an essential part of the protection detail. CAT is the advanced tactical bubble that secures the dignitary’s safety and area on the highest level, from on-spot intervention to overwatch security.
NTAC
The National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) was established as a component of the Secret Service to provide research and guidance in direct support of the Secret Service protective mission, and to others with public safety responsibilities. NTAC's job is to monitor and investigate all cyberspace for credible threats to the dignitaries, and all counterfeit fraud activity.
UNIFORMED DIVISION
The Uniformed Division of the Secret Service is tasked with providing security to Secret Service protected properties, and also provide escort security. These agents represent our presence at said locations, and provide total site security for the duties responsible by the Secret Service. They also are a first line and assistive division for protection details.
